Background and music change...................

from my story............

Love......what is it? Love can make people do things that they never thought they would......and it can also make them forget the most important things around them to find it. How does it feel to have no one to love you.... and how does it feel to think that no one ever will?

Is love simply an emotion......no....it’s the need to have someone hold you, to have someone to talk to, to have someone be your best friend, your soul mate.......someone to tell you it’ll be alright when something happens.......

...love is the reassurance that you are recognized in the world by somebody....somebody that’ll do anything for you.....

 ....but......

These days, a man is defined by how he looks, what he has, and who he has. These days one isn’t loved by what’s on the inside, but what’s on the outside: personality doesn’t matter, and looks are the first thing that people look for. It doesn’t matter how nice you are and how good a person you are..... All people care about is how good you look......

True love is hard to come by..... even from your friends and family. How do you know when love is real? How do you know you’re just not being used? How do you handle it if those that you held close suddenly started to drift away from you? In a harsh world, where does someone go.....? Where can someone find true love? Without being good looking? Without being judged so quickly.......

......In a world dominated by love derived from looks....is there anyplace for someone to be loved for who they are?

.........Yes there is.......cuz i know someone like that......and she knows who she is.......this is dedicated to her............

But anyways I felt it was time to change it anyways....so hope people like this one. Anyways, everyones back and school and from what i've heard it really sux for everybody, lol. But.....at least for me I'm a senior this years.....so it's my last year in school  haha, lol. Plus right now I don't have any really hard classes, so it's kinda smooth sailin' for me.....but everyone else hang in there, lol. I've had a lot of stuff on my mind lately.......but i'm not about to say what it was on here....maybe next time, lol.

My story's takin' forever to finish, but it's gonna be really really depressing -_-'.

Quote: "Love indeed is not a fairy tale........it’s way more complicated than a happy ending............it’s real life..........."

That's a quote from the beginning of it.........let that sink in, lol. Next time I'll put another quote for people to think about, lol. Well, I ain't got much more to say........so I'll just give u some picks to look at  lol

It's Keshin.....don't know if it's any good or not...plus it's kinda small....but deal with it -_-' lol

I drew this a while back.....eventhough now that I look at it I don't think it's really that good -_-'

Hey, what’s up people, I’m back to updating my site every Saturday now. I know you guys liked that last layout, but I decided that it was time for a change. Hope you like what I’ve done to the site.....I know I do, lol. By the way, I apologize for anyone that might be offended or might not like the language used in the song that’s playing in the background. Now that’s out of the way, let’s get on to the usual business.

I know a lot of people are going back to school and junk.....school sux.....but that doesn’t mean that you still can’t have fun at the movies. Here’s what’s going on in the box office.

Anime of the Week

Anyone that’s familiar with the Gundam Universe should know about Gundam Wing (and most recently, Gundam Seed, but we’ll save that for another time). This is the movie/ova of Gundam Wing, known as Endless Waltz. Now, this isn’t like the other Animes of the Week....because this isn’t being shown on TV. You would have to buy it on DVD....which is what I was planning on doing this weekend but the stores didn’t have it     -_-‘. Anyways, anyone that was a fan of Gundam Wing should check this out....or you should’ve already if you considering yourself a fan -_-‘.....or if you just like robots fighting and stuff, you should check it out too. Don’t get me wrong though, this isn’t all about the robots, it deals with issues about war, delves into the backgrounds of the main characters (for those that have seen the series) and it also has some nice action and well....the robots/Gundams do look cool, lol. Anyways, check it out.

By the way, if you haven’t checked out my review for Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie yet, then just scroll down and feel free to read it. It’s the second Anime of the Week this week.

Movie Review: Hustle and Flow

Rating: B+

I just finished watching this yesterday, and I decided that I’ll do a review for it (plus it’ll help me out with an assignment I gotta do for my drama class....she said we gotta write five reviews about movies or shows). Anyways, just in case you haven’t notice, this is where I got my background and my music from....this movie. Ok, that’s enough small talk, on to the review.

Now, at first glance, Hustle and Flow might just seem (or sound -_-‘ lol) like some gansta movie about pimps and hoes and shooting and killing and blah blah blah. Trust me, this movie has more to it than your everyday viewing of BET, lol. Hustle and Flow is a movie about a pimp named DJay whose tired of the life he lives now (pimping hoes and selling drugs) and wishes for something more meaningful in his life. After running into his old friend, Key, who had dreams of making it big as well, and hearing a gospel song, he decides to try to change his life by becoming a rapper. So him and Key, with the help of Shug and Nola, two of DJay’s hoes, and a guy named Shelby, they get to work making a demo tape to have done in time for 4th of July, when a big time rapper named Skinny Black who started out small is supposed to come back to town (this is his hometown) for a party.

If you look past all the pimping stuff and the music, you’ll find a movie that’s about a man struggling to get out of this life that he’s living, no matter what it takes. You can also see that each of the other characters as well, especially Nola, are also tired of their lives and wish for something more. It’s also nice to see how all of these people come together and literally pour their hearts and souls into making this mixtape. Many people have knocked the movie because of the pimping ho’s and the drugs and stuff, but that’s not the whole movie people. It’s deeper: following dreams, not giving up, and never forgetting where you came from (when Skinny Black finally rolls into town, you can see that he no longer cares about the town he once lived in and started out in as a fledgling rapper, rather acting like an arrogant big-shot now that he’s hit the big time). This movie, in my opinion, has a lot of heart to it, and those with sensitive hearts, you might get a little choked up by the ending (I said might ....I’m not guaranteeing it, so if you don’t get chocked up don’t come fussing at me -_-‘ lol).

While I liked the movie, it might not be for everyone. So if you haven’t yet.....you might wanna check it out. Although, unless you really wanna see it, I suggest you wait for it to come on HBO or something......I don’t want anyone to go see it in the movies because I said it’s good and then come back fussing at me because they didn’t like it and wasted they money -_-‘ lol. Anyways, that’s it for this week, I’ll cya all next week.

....by the way......the song that’s in the background, that’s one of the songs they actually made for the mixtape in the movie........

PEACE!

Wednesday, August 03, 2005

Well, well, well people. Don't I have a surprise for you....or at least all of those Fullmetal Alchemist fans out there. I know you've all been watching the series and are probably really excited about the movie. Well...I might not have actually seen the movie......but I've read it . And now...I think I might do a little review about it.....just consider it an early review...and I won't tell anything that'll spoil it for anyone else.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie

Rating: B- (this is my opinion so please don't kill me -_-' lol)

Well, I decided to do this since there are a lot of fullmetal alchemist fans out there that are awaiting for this movie. I've just finished reading what happens and I've gotta say that the fans will really like this movie. So, why is there a minus at the end of my B? Let me explain.

Those that like the cast will be glad to know that mostly everyone makes an appearance in this movie (include Mustang, Hawkeye, Armstrong, the bookworm lady, Winry, and some others). But, the only problem is that most of them don't really get a whole lot of screentime...or at least until the end that is. But we're all worried about Al and Ed, aren't we? Don't worry though, they get all the time they need. Oh, and not to mention a few new characters (a girl that's a gypsy and if you've seen the trailers, the guy with the metal mask on), as well as some kind of new organization called the Thule Society who's intentions aren't really good. Just know that sadly, it involves using what happened to Ed and Al at the end of the series...as well as what this movie is about for that matter (which many of you probably don't know because you haven't seen the end yet...but for those who have you know what I'm talking about) to start a war. Start a war with who you ask? How are they using them to start a war you ask? Can't tell you unless you want spoilers .

Those people that liked the homonculi will be glad to know that 4 of them make an appearance in the movie (note though, not all of them are exactly homoculi anymore or either aren't trying to do bad things). Also, you get a chance to even see the people that died during the series..somewhat.  Oh, and one more minor note, some people might be disappointed to know that one of the characters has died since the end of the series. Don't know if anyone likes them or not...or even knows them because they come in the later half of the series, but heads up.

So now, we get to the story. Yes, it does have the action we've come to expect from Fullmetal Alchemist, and many people will be glad to know that Al has gotten really good with alchemy (he even has one nifty little trick he uses one point in the movie to stop an invasion) and we also get to see Mustang and the others in action as well, not to mention a few of the homonculi in the movie...somewhat...I guess. Anyways....for those that also like the comedy in the series, there's a little bit of it in the movie, but don't expect a whole lot. Like I said above, the story involves the Thule Society trying to start a war by somewhat using Ed and Al. Could go into more detail, but like I said, would be spoilers . Some characters die (in very gruesome ways I might add...they really upped the violence in this one) but it's nobody to get really riled up about. The end of the movie is a happy but somewhat bittersweet/sad one for the two brothers, as well as some of the other characters, and might leave you wishing there was a sequal coming out or something, lol. Oh yeah, and another note, the movie starts out with a flashback as well (which if you've seen the trailer is the part when they're fighting the guy with the mask).

While the movie does tie up the loose ends left by the series, you kinda get a feeling possibly that some of the characters were shortchanged (such as Mustang who you really don't find out what happens to at the end) and that some were just put in for cameo purposes (such as one of the homonculi and one person that died during the series...but hey, guess there's nothing wrong with cameos). Plus, anyone hoping for any real love between Winry and Ed will be disappointed as well (they only see each other once througout the whole movie and they don't really say much to each other as well...eventhough you can tell they cared about each other....too bad they didn't develop it -_-'). Also, the story, while interest, seems..to quote what someone said on a forum....more like a fanfiction story than an actual movie. I would have to agree...although I would also have to say it's a really good fanfic, lol. If it wasn't for the whole Al/Ed thing in the movie, that's all it would've been...a standard fanfic type movie. Anyone that's played the games, imagine the story from the game but times about 7 or 8..that's what the movie is (although I'm sure most of you are like "but...that isn't a bad thing, is it?" -_-' lol).

Despite all that, fans will still really enjoy this movie, since it gives them what they want, the "real" ending to the series, and just another chance to see everyone again. Just don't expect a lot out of the side characters, and you'll be fine, lol. Anyways, sorry the reviews so long, but hope you guys enjoyed it. If anyone out there for any reason wants spoilers, just let me know. Until next time, cya!
